My Experiences in Telemarketing Services
After how many months in college, and enticed by my friends and acquaintances, I landed my first job in a call center. I could remember my feeling then – quite ecstatic of the things and challenges in the workplace.
With the advent of call center seat leasing, there were a lot of call centers being opened here in the Philippines. I just could not imagine how many call center seats there are in the whole Philippines.
For me, being in a call center that offers telemarketing services is very challenging. Yes, my job might be monotonous since I just have to answer calls all the time, but nonetheless, it is one of the most challenging jobs. My first job in the call center is a customer service representative of an insurance company in the United States.
In my first day of handling a call, it was just like me being roasted in hell. I met a lot of irate customers over the phone – the first day! Imagine how it ruined my entire day and I could not even imagine doing my job few months onwards. It is just very daunting on my part as a person. On a positive light, the number one motivation for me that time was thinking that I was lucky enough to have a job compared to others who do not have any. Thus, better for me that I have a call center seat and I am getting paid twice a month.
Thinking about all these things made me realize never to quit my job. Even how stressful it is being in a inbound customer service call center – the pay still plays a pivotal part to keep me going. Being in an inbound call center service for many months before gives me a better pay compared to other co-employees. Furthermore, working in a call center is more secured compared to any business there is.
Right now, I am working for nearly 2 years in the inbound customer service department. I have met a lot of people already from different walks of life.
